The Barn

The Lord placed it on our hearts to build barn churches. It is our testimony against this present church age. God certainly does not mind us having large churches, nor does he mind us having wealthy and even expensive and beautiful churches. The problem is, we have lost something through the years. That old time church feeling. People that know and love one another. A Pastor that knows every person's name in his congregation. The feeling of simplicity. The Lord placed it upon my heart that Christ should be the beauty of a church. The last church age mentioned in the book of Revelation was called Laodicia, here is what the bible says about this church age.

Revelation 3:14-17 (KJV)

14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked

There is something wrong when a people grows to believe that the sign of God being in their church is how much it cost,. or how beautiful the building is.  That in a nutshell is the problem.  Corrupt minds, and men destitute of the truth.

1 Timothy 6:5 (KJV)
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
